Dreamweavers
The following was written by a former Centurion of KOS: Zeilyn, who prior to that was guild leader of the DreamweaversThe Dreamweavers were a like minded, small, Danish, guild who joined in alliance with KoS in order to raid Karazhan and Zul'Aman together, when we got back together again to start taking on Naxxramas in Wrath of the Lich King, they decided to join us on a more permanent basis and the two guilds merged into one, this is when we adopted the entwined snake tabard to signify this. This page is a brief history of The Dreamweavers and how that alliance came about:
HistoryThe seeds that later grew into Dreamweavers appeared on Aggramar because Zeilyn and Nathiala (Zeilyn's little brother) had both grown tired of the current situation on their current PvP server. Five man groups on that server were virtually dead, it was almost exclusively populated by large raiding guilds. Nathiala and Zeilyn were in a 40-man raiding guild on a 3 week schedule, and if they were online it was not allowed to say "no thanks" to raiding, or, in other words; raiding was compulsory. They were rather unhappy about that, and so something had to change.
Zeilyn found his way onto the PvE server; Aggramar in early Spring 2006. He lured Daimi (Zeilyn's wife) and Nathiala with him, amongst others. Having abandoned the idea of being in a big raiding guild, they opted to create a small cozy guild based on family and real life friends - Thus the guild "Batman Forever" (baptized by Nathiala) was born. Zeilyn lured their big brother (Draconard) into WoW and he recruited a few co-workers, namely Phelaan (Bloodyhelln), Zoi and Vengenca. Zeilyn recruited a co-worker called Kjillar. They had a debate over the arguable odd guild name, and the guild was renamed Dreamweavers.
The AllianceTwo years later, summer 2008, the Dreamweavers consisted of a core of ~8 level 70 players. All heroics had been completed endlessly and we were really anxious to begin some 10 man raiding. Zeilyn and Nathiala had both tried a fair share of 25 man TBC raiding and 10 man Karazhan raiding on their horde characters, and found 10 man raiding much more enjoyable and less of a timesink (it takes a long time to sort 25 people with tactics etc ).
Despite our best efforts to recruit more friends into WoW, we were not able to muster 10 level 70 players. By a fortunate accident, Zeilyn found a recruitment poster from a guy named Dozza on the Aggramar realm, blizzard forum. After a quick inspection of their guild, it was concluded that KoS consisted mostly of mature players like Dreamweavers. They would like to raid but severly lacked tanks and healers. The Dreamweavers on the other hand lacked DPS classes. Dreamweavers and KoS therefore agreed to join forces and created a raiding alliance - and we entered Karazhan and later Zul'Aman with great success.
It only took about 1½ months for lots of our players to change from green level 70 players to solid epic raiders - quite an achievement for a casual raiding alliance. The 3.0.2 nerf hit us while we were progressing through Zul'Aman, and as a consequence Zul'Aman was quickly then on 'farm' status.
The guilds moved onwards and upwards from there.
