A number of members have asked what on earth AS----> means, when I and a few other enlightened players write it in guild chat to acknowledge an exploration achievement.
Well, with the introduction of achievements we all started noticing how other members of the guild were getting on around the world and I was getting a bit tired of all the gratzs and gzs and the like.
I wanted something different.
So I delved into the depths of my disturbed memory for a famous explorer with whose name i could associate an exploration achievement, and who should pop up but Arne Sacnussen
It is Arne's path that the explorers follow in the famous Jules Verne novel "Journey To The Centre Of The Earth". In my misspent youth I and many others used to watch a cartoon series of that name where at the end of each nailbiting episode the intrepid explorers would find Arne's initials scratched on a wall with an arrow pointing them in the right direction..AS---->.
At the time (and probably only around here) us kids used to gain great delight from chalking this up around school or even carving it into our desks...innocent fun.
So I thought what better way to acknowledge an exploration achievement than referring to one of the greatest (OK I know he's fictional) explorers of all time.
Well none obviously so that's what I do and I encourage all those of you with a sense of fun in your heart to follow suit. It's the new craze and long may it continue.
As an aside Tamsk understood the origin of this from some strange old game he used to play, but he does know a lot of stuff so I wasn't at all surprised.

So? Activision still charge £20 more than anyone else. They do it with CoD games now too. We shouldn't encourage it. As to the state of the games on release, I wouldn't pay £50 for a meal that has to go back 4 times before it's edible.

Tree - people spend £50 on a meal, and you only eat it once, but a game (if you like it) could provide hours / days / weeks ++ of fun

My answer to the poll BTW is: "Not until it gets a DAMNED site cheaper". £50 for a PC game is ridiculous. Activision strike again.

Technically, you have full statutory rights, in practice you'll never get a refund because you "opened the game", but if you can show it's broken,not of quality or 'as described'...

D3's actually been remarkably playable the past couple of days; sure, it jammed solid right at midnight, but I was in by 01:10, and have got plenty of play since.
