If anyone has any ideas of what they would like to see on this site then please post them here. I encourage everyone to contribute ideas to the development of this site as I want it to be a resource to which guild members can return again and again.

How about a section (maybe under the Guild Info heading) for us to put external links to useful information. I'd suggest categorising it, as you are (Class, Profession, PvP etc) and having us PM you with suggestions and you decide what should go on and where :-)

There just poped up an idea in my mind. Maybe some sort of statistics as there is on armory. Like how many lvl X-Y we have how many of each sort of class do we have etc.

But this web is really very good already smile

I have asked MMO about a guild roster and they say this is something they are looking into. Until they add that as a facility on the website then we have no roster, and I really don't want to devote the time to maintaining one manually, as our exact numbers change from day to day.

Crafters Corner:
Adding either a new tab to the top of the page or adding another main forum to the first page with the "Off-Topic Discussion" etc, In this part of the forum we can have a list of people in the guild with proffesions at 375/375 and what they can make.

thumbs up for this idea smile

plus concerning the discussion in the DM post we can start a new part of the forum called for example " Class issues", where we can talk about certain, well class issues smile

Maybe a section on crafting? What crafters we have in the guild and roughly what they can make... it's always tricky getting things like high-end enchants.

Ah look, someone already suggested it wink Cool, well, double-thumbs up...

A couple of you have asked now about a list of high level crafters in the Guild.

Therefore I have added a 'sticky' thread entitled Professions at 375.

To see the new thread click here

The Bank facility on the website has not so far been used - and to be quite honest I'm not entirely certain what use it is?!

However one idea, is to post on it recipes that we can make in our professions, so that other guild members can browse them and see if there are any items they could use, and therefore request from the professional concerned. As an example I've posted some of my smithing recipes. Comments invited.

Hmm, doesn't seem to be able to give mouseovers for enchantments, judging by my test one. Still, I'll add them there anyway, and people can come to me for details smile

Thanks a pity

You can however add a description in the notes for the item

I've done it for your test item - so have a look see what you think

Great Idea Jugger. Any chance you could edit the categories into Professions? I'll do it if you like, I have more time than you do.

For new players, like myself, it would be handy to have some loot etiquette added to the dungeon guide. This might avoid embarrasing situations.

I think Unikorn could be the best man for the job on this one. If you'd like to post something here Unikorn I will copy and past onto a permanent page under the Guild Info tab as Aule has suggested.

I've already started one, just for normal dungeons.

Dungeon Loot Etiquette 101

When playing in a group within a dungeon, the question of loot etiquette raises it's ugly head, and believe me this is where the game can get REALLY ugly if not everyone follows etiquette.

Towards this end Blizzard have devised the "Need or Greed" system. This creates a window onscreen whenever a Green or above quality item is looted by a party member. This window displays the looted item and a (quite lengthy so don't panic) timer, allowing you to click on either the 'Need' button or the 'Greed' button.

Once all in the group have voted, the game automatically rolls a random number from 1-100 for all those that clicked 'Need', and the one with the highest number automatically receives the loot. If nobody clicked need then the game automatically rolls a random number from 1-100 for all those that clicked 'Greed' and the one with the highest number automatically receives the loot.

You can also click the 'X' to close the window and 'Pass' on the roll.

Standard Game Etiquette on the use of this system is thus:

If the Item to be rolled on is one that you can AND WILL use, ie is better than the item you are currently using, then you should roll 'Need'.

Other than that;
If the Item to be rolled on is labelled "Bind on Equip" (BoE) then you should roll 'Greed'.
If the Item to be rolled on is labelled "Bind on Pickup" (BoP) then you should 'Pass' on the roll.

If everyone passes on a BoP item then the group establishes if anyone in the group is an enchanter who can Disenchant (DE) the item into it's constituent BoE elements (Usually a shard of some kind). If there is an Enchanter in the group they should take the item and DE it.

At that point everyone should type "/roll" in chat, the game will generate you a random number between 1-100. The person that rolls the highest number receives the shard from the Enchanter and the run proceeds.

If nobody can DE the item then everyone '/Roll's and the winner takes the item to sell to a vendor.

To save time it's a good idea to establish if anyone can DE before the run starts and then designate that person to roll 'Greed' on BoP items while everyone else rolls 'Need' or Passes. Then they get the item if nobody 'Needs' automatically. Usually they'll wait until the end of the run to DE the Passed items and get everyone to roll once, passing shards to the highest rollers.

Often, if the run is 'All-Guild' then the enchanter will keep the shards to be used to enchant their guildies' gear later on.

If, as is often the case, your character has a 2nd (3rd, 4th) set of gear to be used 'off-spec' (Such as Holy Priests having a 'soloing' set, or Druids having separate sets for Healing, DPS OR tanking, or anyone having a PvP set) and a BoP item appears that, whilst you wont use it most of the time, will fit nicely in your 'off-spec' set. It is considered polite to wait to see if anyone else 'Need's the item and if none do, to ask in chat if it's 'OK to need for off-spec', usually people will be OK with this.

Gathering Profession Materials (Skinning/Mining/Herbalism)

Often this issue is completely ignored and people just have at it on a 'first come, first served' basis. This is fine if all are OK with this. (This is generally what happens on KoS guild runs.)

The more formal etiquette of handling these things is, at the start of the run, to establish who is a Skinner/Miner/Herbalist and then establish if any of those actually use the items for professions, (Leatherworker/Blacksmith/Jewelcrafter/Alchemist/Inscriptor) or if they just gather to sell on. This is the equivalent of establishing 'Need' or 'Greed'.

Then the group decides either to 'Take turns' or 'Roll' between people that 'Need' (if there are none, between those that 'Greed'). Taking turns is generally considered better, as it keeps the run moving more quickly.
I'm afraid. I'm afraid, Dave. Dave, my mind is going. I can feel it. I can feel it. My mind is going. There is no question about it. I can feel it. I can feel it. I can feel it. I'm a... fraid...

Nice write up Tree, now a few extra's.

Combat looting:
It is bad form to loot a body while the fight is still going on, if there happens to be a need/greed item on that kill, a pop up box will appear while people are still fighting. This can have 2 problems, firstly the box might pop up over the top of some vital buttons, especially if the person is using a custom UI, and secondly people fighting really have not got time to consider whether that item is a need or greed and therefore may press the wrong button.

Boss fights:
On a boss fight it is considered polite to not loot until everyone who died is back alive and within range of the kill. If you happen to have no one that can res then you wait for that person to run back from the graveyard. Also only people who are there when the boss dies get a chance to roll, so if you die half way through the fight just stay dead and wait to see the outcome.

Even dead people who have not released get a chance to roll, so make sure the party is going to wait for you if you do release. Reasons why they may not are 1. PUGs, you tend to get greedy people in PUGs who don't follow these etiquette rules and loot regardless, and 2. Sometimes the leader will make a call to loot anyway, normally on the last boss when they consider there is probably respawn that is going to prevent the dead people from running back.

I didn't get to roll, why not?
There are a couple of likely reasons, firstly some magic items are classed as unique and if you already have one of those items (even if in the bank) and a second one drops then you won't even get a chance to roll. Secondly some profession recipes only appear as a need/greed roll for people who have that profession. Third, you were not present when the mob died or not present when the body was looted, this is normally caused by people releasing to the graveyard before the fight is over, or before someone loots.
